I have a huge packet ready for you filled with literacy and math activities that go perfectly with Cinco de Mayo.  (They aren't a study of Cinco de Mayo, but compliment any study you do perfectly).

2. Go to the library and get: The Three Little Tamales and The Three Little Pigs.

Newbie Author Introduction - Freebie and a Giveaway

Hola a todos! 
My name is Laura Castro and this is my first post here! I'm excited to be a part of a blog that is dedicated to bilingual educators - I've been dreaming about one for a long time!


I teach in a bilingual second grade classroom near Chicago.  I'm not a native Spanish speaker, but I began studying early and couldn't get enough.  I studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina and lived there for several years.  My husband is an argentino and at home we speak mostly Spanish.  At school I do sometimes get confused between "Argentine" Spanish and what my students speak "Mexican" Spanish - we have a lot of laughs!


Currently my classroom has made a huge shift to nearly all English because my students transition into a English classroom in third grade.  BUT next year I will be teaching a 1/2 split and will be needing and making a lot more Spanish resources than I have been this year!


I wanted to share one freebie with you all that you might have seen already if you follow my blog or classroom freebies too - but I've updated it!  I need to get into the habit of making everything in English and Spanish for next year and so I've updated my Spicy Story Maps and now you can have them in English or Spanish.  Click any of the images below to download them from my TpT store.
